Who am I: 

I grew up in Southern California, earned a Graduate Degree in the field of Social Work with an emphasis on older adults and families from California State University Long Beach “Go Beach!” I relocated from Anaheim, CA to Bellingham, WA in 2016 after a catastrophic diagnosis struck our family. We sold our home, left our old life behind and started over in the PNW, where we were closer to family. I believe every day is a gift and am grateful for what I do and what I have. I love puzzles, live music, creating macrame art, skiing with my daughters, spending time in the outdoors, hiking, camping, exploring and being near water. I love to travel, eat good food, discover new things and places and snuggle my kids and dog. 

Professional experience: 

I've grown up working in the service industry, waiting tables, bartending and working within the hotel industry. My professional career began in 2009.  I served my community as a Hospice Medical Social Worker & Bereavement Care Coordinator within the field of Hospice and in home Palliative Care until 2016.  After many trials and triumphs in my personal life, the Pandemic hit. It was during this time I refocused, shifted direction, earned my Real Estate License, Joined John L Scott and continued to serve others during significant life events.  I've earned brokerage awards and professional designations.

Vanessa made our buying and moving process as good as it could be given the difficulties the sellers left us with. She was super communicative and was helpful in guiding me as an unexperienced buyer throughout the whole process. She made sure to let me know of any new developments right away so we could make our decisions with no pressure. The seller we worked with, who is an agent herself, was unprofessional in that she was unwilling to clean the place and left big piles of junk and trash on the property after the sale was complete. Vanessa made things right by immediately hiring a professional cleaner as well as a junk removal company to make our move as simple and easy as possible.
